Nice to see some higher-rez photos from the shoot, too! The ones I have access to aren’t so great. >.>
I’d love to get a better-angled, higher-res version of this. Sadly, although there were tons of people stopping to take photos of the TF2 shoot, I’ve only found a handful of galleries online. Apparently they all went right back to playing TF2 when they got home…
There was a second Scout’s Mom! I believe she even had a RED version for one of the days (she’s also the one who got onto the official TF2 website, lucky devil).
Lucky for us there was a RED Spy (actually female but it made her fit better) to play around with after we finished all the class shots. <3

That reminds me, I should post those Sakuracon pics at some point. I don’t actually have any of the files though so it might be a while.
Expect lots of Scout though.
So I finally got a list of some of my boyfriend’s favorite games. Sadly Geometry Wars is fairly uncosplayable. My shortlist (since he hasn’t had much say in it so far) is thus:
-Godot and Mia from Phoenix Wright (unsure which Mia I’d use, he’d use visor-Godot)
-Guybrush and Elaine Threepwood from Monkey Island (again, unsure which versions we’d use)
-Sasha Nein and Milla Vodello from Psychonauts
-F2P Spy (his idea -_-‘) and Scout’s Mom (I’d prefer just a RED Spy but he’s a goofball and seems to like the idea better)
So far we’ve got plenty to work with, and if PAX does end up being 4 days this year we could even have one for every day if we put the effort in. Kinda don’t want to use Scout’s Mom for a third time without buying/making a new dress for her though. The current one’s fine, but that blatant of recycling kinda rubs me wrong.
Anyone got any experience with the above cosplays?
Had this dream where (among other things) Ms. Pauling and I made a sort of “love bungalow” for Medic and Heavy. I think they were coming back from a long time apart or abroad or something? So when they got back they were shocked and ecstatic and ran off to spend a whole day in it.
I wanted to catch up with them but Pauling was all “No, let them have this time together.” But then later in my dream they came out and invited me back with them, either as a thank you or to try some things they needed a third/woman for or something.
Of course at that point I was starting to wake up, and I struggled to stay asleep and see it through but. :T
Some personal favorites from the shoot
Found the first batch of Sakuracon photos! I’m the Scout’s Mom on the right in both photos.
Was really impressed a) with the Merasmus and b) that there was in a Merasmus in the first place!
Can’t wait to see the ones of that foxy Demowoman, she was rad!
So much smaller than PAX. Actually found myself bored now and then.
Still had fun though. Way more fan-centric and driven. Lots more cosplay (or, I was told, the numbers that would’ve showed up for PAX sans cosplay just weren’t there). Both my (recycled) cosplays got way more recognition.
Took part in a Valve photoshoot. Handed out some nerd-cards, so hopefully those pictures will start trickling in soon. Should be expecting some lovely ones featuring myself and a certain RED Spy.
Tired. Feet hurt. Why is work a thing?

Scout’s Mom’s “black stripe;” belt, or literal stripe?
For the record, for my cosplay I use a wide black belt. I feel sewing or printing an actual stripe across the middle of a dress really bad design, ‘cuz if you don’t get it at the perfect point on your waist it’ll just look terrible.
Testing out the blue nail polish I bought for my upcoming redo of Scout’s Ma. I had a lovely dark red on my nails from an earlier mani/pedi, but the mani part has since been removed.
I feel somehow oddly canonical, with the BLU up top and the RED hidden below… >.>
Trying to convince my friend to change her Scout cosplay from RED to BLU for Sakuracon so my Scout’s Ma will look better.
She says she doesn’t want to ‘cuz “RED is better and they always win ‘cuz they have more people.”
All the more reason to go BLU then! D:
